In the fall semester of 2005 the activities concentrate on the Belgium-Dutch region. The conference was held in Brussels, 19-21 December 2005.
The first showcase workshops will be held in Belgium and The Netherlands. The topics are still preliminary. Before the start of the Showcase workshops the host partners will submit a position paper annex work plan in which they will identify the tasks they will address in their activities during the upcoming semester.
South Wing Randstad: The first workshop will be undertaken by the lead partner and serve as a test run. It will be used to for fine-tuning, to make sure the approach is mature before it is applied on the cases of local and regional partners. Subject is the emerging passenger railnet in the province South-Holland and its implications for transport development: Zuidvleugelnet.
Region Eindhoven: The second showcase takes place in the region Eindhoven. The region Eindhoven (NL) is developing a technology triangle with Leuven (B) and Aachen (D). Public transport links crossing the borders between these urban areas are lacking. The workshop will focus on how to connect these cities in a sustainable way.
